This is a digital-twin SCADA dashboard modeling the Town of Needham, MA municipal water system — wells, MWRA backup supply, combined storage, pressure zones, and pumping. It is a demonstration model, not the town’s live operational control system. In LIVE mode it pulls one genuine public feed: real-time streamflow (CFS) from the USGS streamgage at Wellesley, MA (site 01104200), used as a proxy for wellfield-recharge conditions. The other readouts — storage, demand (MGD), zone pressures (PSI), and the pump schedule — are modeled to illustrate how the system behaves.
Switch to SIMULATED mode to run what-if scenarios and watch pressures, flows, and storage respond across the network. Everything is rendered as live canvas gauges and trend charts in a SCADA-style control layout — a thought-experiment in how a small water utility’s distribution network could be visualized and managed as one continuously updating operating picture.
